CM Memory Boxes are donated and meant for babies lost at approximately 20-40 weeks gestation, but caregivers use your discretion as appropriate.
A small blanket and perhaps a matching hat. Foot, hand, and ear print cards. Extra cards for mounting such items as baby's measuring tape, lock of hair, and of course pictures. An angel teddy bear-because every baby needs a Teddy. Matching mom-dad-baby bracelets. Forget-me-not seed packet for planting on days of remembrance. A candle to light on special days of remembrance. A flower for use in picture taking. Foot/hand mold kits. Also of utmost importance is the Commemorative Birth Certificate.
Caregivers keep in mind: these are the only memories of this child the parents will ever have, please make as many as you can think of and take many, many pictures.
Next we offer: Cailin's Early Pregnancy Loss Packets. This item is for babies lost before it is possible to make physical memories; most babies under 20 weeks. Again-use your discretion and parents wishes. In practice I have been able to make physical memories with a baby as early as 16 weeks.
This packet contains many of the same items as our boxes: a remembrance candle and forget-me-not seed packet. Birth certificate. Cards for mounting memories such as ultrasound pictures and positive pregnancy tests. Poetry is also a favorite and is included.
